Job summary

Churchill's Thorpe Bay in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a busy kitchen. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, assist with washing, storage, and basic prep, and help during service. Flexible day/evening shifts, including weekends, with both full-time and part-time options.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen porter or similar role is an advantage.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Willingness to work day/evening shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, preparation, wash up and back of house areas.
• Wash, clean, sanitise and safely store crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment, keeping the wash up area organised and ready for service.
• Follow daily and deep cleaning schedules, including floors, surfaces, equipment and other designated areas.
• Receive, unload and put away deliveries promptly and safely, storing items in the correct areas and reporting any issues to a manager.
• Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation, restocking and other duties where required and once appropriately trained.
• Follow all food safety, allergen, COSHH, manual handling and health and safety procedures, reporting hazards or equipment faults promptly.
• Dispose of waste and recycling correctly and help maintain clean and tidy storage areas.
• Work as part of the wider team and comply with company policies, procedures and reasonable management requests.
