Job summary

J D Wetherspoon is seeking a Kitchen Porter at The Winter Gardens, Harrogate. You will join a busy team, handling potwashing and related kitchen tasks with a focus on hygiene and efficiency. The role offers flexible shifts and opportunities for development within the company.

The role is ideal for someone reliable, friendly and able to work as part of a team; previous kitchen experience is not required as ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required; good attitude and willingness to learn.
• Calm head under pressure.
• Team player with reliability.

Responsibilities

• Set up and close down the potwash area and support other kitchen work stations.
• Follow dishwashing, grease-management and hand-hygiene procedures.
• Clean, polish and store cutlery.
• Manage waste, recycling and correctly receive/store deliveries.
• Rotate stock and keep fridges/freezers/storage clean and organised.
• Complete defrost, preparation and general cleaning tasks, staying hygiene-focused.
• Maintain high standards of food storage, safety and kitchen cleanliness.
