Position Overview

Driver Kitchen Porter - Harrogate District Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Driver Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated and professional Catering Team at Harrogate District Hospital. In this role you will support the team with a range of kitchen porter duties, assist with the delivery of patient meals, and work across two local outlets in Harrogate and deliver to Ripon Hospital.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, a good team player, able to follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards, flexible, and committed to providing excellent support to patients and staff. In possession of a full, clean UK driving licence, you will have the chance to be part of a supportive team, contributing directly to patient care and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the team with kitchen porter duties, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
• Assist with the delivery of patient meals, ensuring food is transported safely and on time.
• Work across two local outlets in Harrogate and provide delivery services to Ripon Hospital.
• Clean kitchens, associated areas, refrigerators, and food stores to required standards.
• Carry out deep cleaning of floors, wall surfaces, and catering equipment (e.g., fryers, ovens, bain-maries).
• Wash pots, pans, utensils, and crockery used by staff and patients.
• Ensure food waste is disposed of correctly and stored in the designated outside location.
• Assist with delivery of meals, collection of crockery, and movement of goods as required.
• Unload and unpack deliveries, ensuring correct storage and stock rotation.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations at all times.
• Support colleagues and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
• Undertake additional duties as requested by the Catering Manager or Supervisors.
