Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our small team at BAE Broadoak, Hilsea, Portsmouth. You’ll keep the kitchen clean, wash dishes, help with basic food prep and stock handling in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order

We are a Contract Catering Company called Baxterstorey and provide the Food Beverage and Hospitality services at BAE Broadoak in Portsmouth. We are a small team of 7 serving Breakfast and Lunch services along with our Coffee Bar, Retail and Salad / Deli Bar for the staff and management of BAE Systems.

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our small friendly team;

Rate of Pay £13.45 per hour
