As a Kitchen Porter at Kew Green, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly so that, as a team, you’re creating outstanding, memorable experiences. Without you and your rubber gloves, your team of Chefs couldn’t deliver. We know it’s not uncommon for Kitchen Porter’s to sometimes get overlooked, but to us – you’ll be something of a hero. A role as a Kitchen Porter is the perfect first job for any individual looking to get a taste for what a career as a Chef might be like, in addition to offering individuals with a passion for supporting teams the ideal opportunity to do so.

What you’ll be doing as a Kitchen Porter
  • Preparing basic food items from our menu
  • Prepping kitchen spaces, including waste management, washing and organisation
  • Supporting your Chefs in ensuring that all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulation are met
  • Set up and stock food items and other supplies
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitised
  • Facilitating special requests from guests
  • Completing all training to timescales and looking for ways to develop your skills and experience
  • Arriving on time, in the correct uniform with a positive, can-do attitude!
What’ll make you a great fit for this Kitchen Porter role
  • Where you’ve worked doesn’t matter as long as you have experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • You’ll have basic food hygiene
  • A great understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
