Berkeley Scott seeks reliable Kitchen Porters and Kitchen Assistants for a temporary contract in Leeds, with an immediate start available and competitive pay. Working as part of a dedicated on-site catering crew, the successful candidate supports chefs during service, assists with basic food preparation, operates dishwashers, cleans equipment and maintains hygiene standards across the kitchen. Regular ongoing shifts are offered, alongside flexible patterns to suit availability and weekly pay. Applicants should demonstrate reliability, hard work and a willingness to follow instruction, with prior experience in a similar role desirable but not essential. Support from the Berkeley Scott team is provided throughout the assignment, and consistent work with one established client in a single location is guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
• Assisting with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties
• Operating dishwashers and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Keeping kitchen areas clean, organised and hygienic
• Assisting with kitchen close-down proceduresFollowing instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
• Complying with all food hygiene and health and safety procedures

About You

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Well organised with good communication skills
• Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Experienced in a kitchen or catering environment
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant, Catering Assistant or Chef Assistant is highly desirable.

An Enhanced DBS certificate is desirable but not essential. A Food Safety Certificate is also beneficial, although training may be available for the right candidate.

Pay rate depends on previous experience and/or client.
