Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant (Full-Time, London Multiple Central Locations)

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to help deliver daily excellence in a growing, creative bakery brand in central London.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Wash, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment, utensils, and production tools.
  • Handle incoming deliveries unpacking, organising stock, and safe transportation of goods within the kitchen/storage areas.
  • Keep all kitchen, bakery, and storage areas immaculately clean, tidy, and well‑organised.
  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety regulations and food hygiene standards at all times.
  • Support pastry chefs and production staff with general prep tasks (non‑cooking) when needed.
  • Maintain sanitized floors, surfaces, and equipment throughout your shift, helping ensure a smooth flow during busy periods.
What Is Expected Person Specification
  • Previous experience as a kitchen porter / kitchen assistant or in a similar cleaning/support role is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a busy, fast‑paced production kitchen.
  • Reliable, punctual, flexible with shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Physically fit, capable of lifting and moving heavy boxes/equipment safely.
  • Good understanding of basic Health & Safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and commitment to cleanliness and order.
  • Team‑oriented with good communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.

Role: Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant

Location: Multiple sites across central London (rotated based on business needs)
Contract: Permanent, full‑time 5 days per week (weekends and bank holidays included, on rota)
Shifts: Rotating shifts: 06:00‑15:00 or 15:00‑23:00

Reporting to: Operations Manager / Head Chef
