Job summary

Dobbies Garden Centres Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our restaurant operations, keep the kitchen clean and ensure meals are presented to a high standard and on time.

You will work with the kitchen team, learning about dietary requirements, allergens and health & safety while contributing to a welcoming customer experience across our restaurants and stores. This is a hands-on role in a busy environment with opportunity to develop in our academy and through our wellness programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service and delivering customer service.
• Ability to work in a busy kitchen and restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of kitchen health, safety and hygiene rules.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to duties.
• Passion for food and helping customers have a great experience.

Our Kitchen Porters play an essential role in delivering an exceptional customer experience across our Restaurants - delivering tasty food, ensuring food hygiene and maintaining high operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Working proactively and supporting general kitchen duties
• Ensure smooth running of restaurant operations including cleaning, dishwasher operations and equipment availability
• Working alongside the kitchen team to ensure your customers are presented with their meal to a high standard and on time
• Developing your knowledge of dietary requirements, allergens and health & safety

• A team player and confident communicator who is eager to learn new skills and gain new experiences

• Experience of working in food service
• Knowledge and understanding of kitchen health, safety and hygiene rules
• Relevant food safety qualifications would be ideal
