Job summary

BaxterStorey is hiring a Kitchen Porter with a Full UK driving licence to support a well-organised kitchen and a busy on-site operation. The role focuses on keeping dishes and surfaces clean, supporting chefs, and enabling smooth service across locations.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, maintain high standards of hygiene, and be entrusted with safe waste disposal and equipment care. Training and career development are available within our hospitality network.

Qualifications

• No formal education required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred.
• Physical stamina to stand and work long shifts.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must hold a Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment by hand or with industrial dishwashers.
• Daily use of industrial floor cleaner.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops and food prep areas; dispose of waste properly.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping and slicing ingredients.
• Receive, store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene; ensure equipment is in good working order.
• Driving to locations on site with a valid licence.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Heavy Machinery – Daily use of industrial floor cleaner
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
• Driving – Driving licence is essential as will be required to drive to locations on site
