Job summary

The Club Company is seeking a motivated Kitchen Porter to support food preparation and keep a professional, hygienic kitchen running at one of our premium golf and country clubs in Colchester. You will assist with sourcing ingredients, washing crockery, and preparing basic station items in line with the club's standards.

This role offers exposure to a high-standard culinary environment, with shift patterns across early mornings and evenings, and benefits such as paid holidays and staff

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality industry cooking experience preferred.

Kitchen Porter

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Kitchen Porter support in food preparation and ensure the smooth running of our kitchen. In this role, you will assist with obtaining ingredients, clean food preparation equipment, and maintain a safe, tidy kitchen environment. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining the necessary ingredients and small equipment for food preparation. You will follow standard recipes and ensure food preparation is executed according to the Club's specifications. You will use safe and sanitary food handling practices, while maintaining cleanliness in your workstation, including washing all crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils to the required standards. Your duties will also include cleaning food storage areas, managing waste, and ensuring all kitchen utensils are properly stored. You will actively contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and hygienic kitchen environment, assist the chef team where needed, and participate in departmental meetings. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen at a prestigious golf and country club while contributing to our high standards of food, hygiene and service.
