Job summary

COSMO Authentic World Kitchen in Bournemouth is seeking a Kitchen Porter to keep the kitchen clean and organized while supporting the chefs with basic tasks. You will wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and assist with deliveries and restocking in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

The role offers on‑the‑job training and a friendly working atmosphere, with opportunities to grow within the kitchen team. Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not required, and candidates must be able to work

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service is an advantage but not required.
• Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Physical stamina to handle long hours, lifting and standing.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are cleaned thoroughly and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including cleaning work surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Assist in food preparation and basic tasks as required by chefs.
• Help manage kitchen waste and dispose of rubbish correctly.
• Ensure that all kitchen tools and equipment are stored properly and organized.
• Support kitchen staff with deliveries, organizing supplies, and restocking as needed.
• Ensure that hygiene standards are followed and maintained throughout the kitchen.
• Assist in the unloading and storing of deliveries, ensuring stock is properly stored.
• Help with the cleaning and tidying of the kitchen at the end of service.

About the Role
