Job summary

Yard Sale Pizza is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team. You will support the back of house, help keep the kitchen clean, assist with ingredient prep, and follow health and safety procedures during service.

We offer evening shifts around 6pm to 11:30pm, overtime paid, holiday pay, a fun team, and clear training and progression opportunities, with a potential path to become a trainee pizza chef. Staff discounts and free pizza on shift are also provided.

Responsibilities

• Work with the back of house team and maintain the kitchen to high standards.
• Support the chefs during busy service.
• Keep the kitchen running clean and organized during and after service.
• Clean utensils and dishes and assist with general kitchen duties.
• Help with preparing ingredients to ensure smooth service.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures in the kitchen.

Yard Sale Pizza is on the search for a Kitchen Porter to join our amazing team!

Who are we?

Yard Sale Pizza fired up the oven in 2014, starting with weekly supper clubs from our backyard in Hackney. We now offer delivery, dine-in and takeaway in 17 of our favourite neighbourhoods. Known for our collaborations, we’ve teamed up with illustrators, musicians, international chefs & local eateries- all on the quest for the perfect pie!

We’ve won London’s most-loved restaurant in Time Out’s 2016 Love London awards, were awarded Best Cheap Eats in the Observer Food Monthly Awards in 2017, and were voted London’s favourite pizza in Time Out’s inaugural Clash of the Slices in 2022.

We’re a young and fast-growing company who offer plenty of career progression for hard working and talented individuals.

Our second shop south of the river in Balham serving the folk of South-West London, second shop opened in the midst of the pandemic in March 2021 and still going strong! We are open for delivery & collection seven days a week, with a few spots outside to perch with your pizza when things are bit more normal. We've moved into an exceptional neighbourhood, with plenty of restaurants and bars to grab a drink after work :)

What will I be doing?

• Working with the back of house team, maintaining the kitchen to high standards.
• Supporting the chefs during busy service.
• Keeping the kitchen running efficiently and spotlessly clean during and after service.
• Cleaning utensils and dishes alongside general kitchen duties.
• Helping with preparing ingredients for the chefs to ensure a smooth and efficient service during peak periods.
• Adhering to health and safety procedures within the kitchen.

What are we looking for?

• Someone who is motivated and a great team player,
• Previous experience with a fast-paced environment.
• An individual who is keen to learn new skills and progress.
