Job summary

A local government authority in Penarth is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to run a busy kitchen serving approximately 250–280 meals daily. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant cooking experience and the ability to supervise staff. DBS check is required. This role offers a pro-rated salary of £32,597–£36,363 for 27.5 hours per week during term time only.

About the role

Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14 – 19 Pro Rata £32,597‑ £36,363, £316.90‑ £18.85 (Per Hour)

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 5 Days – 27½ hrs per week, term time only

Main Place of Work: Ysgol Y Deri

Temporary Reason: Permanent

The Big Fresh Catering Company is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Manager. Number of meals served on site: approximately 250 – 280 daily. Applicants will be responsible for the daily running of the kitchen and should preferably have experience of large-scale catering.

  • Be able to use their own initiative in the day to day running of the kitchen
  • At least 2 years practical cooking experience in a busy catering environment within the last 3 years.
