Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for our Esher site. The role runs Monday to Friday during term time (40 weeks) with a 40-hour week and salary £15.50 per hour. You will help keep the kitchen clean, safe and compliant with high standards of hygiene, while supporting chefs with basic food prep.

We offer free meals on duty, on-site parking and opportunities for progression within our independent contract catering team.

Qualifications

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Great team player.
• Be able to help the chefs with some food prep.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher.

Kitchen Assistant | Monday - Friday Esher Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £15.50
Hours: 40h per week

A co‑educational independent day school for children aged 2 to 18. Situated just outside Esher, Surrey. Catering for just about 1400 students and teachers. We offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch, tuck shop and match teas. There will be a lot of hospitality offering at this location. This is a term time only contract working 40 weeks a year. This school operates Monday to Friday and has an additional benefit of free on‑site parking.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Esher.

You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

We are looking for

• Kitchen porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Can do attitude.
• Organisation skills.

Knowledge / competencies

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred.
