Job summary

Maria Mallaband Care Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support food preparation and catering in line with Health and Safety and Food Standard regulations. You will monitor cleaning schedules and keep all areas of the kitchen immaculately clean, including washing up crockery and utensils when required.

We value flexibility, good communication, and a genuine interest in working in a care home. Previous care home experience is desirable but not essential.

• Assist chefs to plate meals and prepare food trolleys.
• Keep preparation areas clean and tidy throughout shifts.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be experienced with food preparation and catering in accordance with Health and Safety and Food Standard regulations. Monitor and maintain kitchen cleaning schedules ensuring that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean; including the washing up of crockery and utensils when required.

About You;

• Able to demonstrate an ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effective at all levels.
• Acting as the link between main kitchen and our residents
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas TOS kept
• Genuine interest in working in a Care Home environment.
• Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
• Committed and organised approach.
• A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible to work shifts.
