Job summary

The Glee Club Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking person to join our kitchen team for 1–3 shifts per week. You’ll assist the head chef, prepare high-quality dishes, and maintain cleanliness to meet hygiene standards.

Shifts run 5–6:30pm and end around 9–10pm, with weekend/evening availability and December work required. Benefits include tips and a bonus scheme, plus free show tickets for non-working nights.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ to apply.
• Shifts start 5:00–6:30pm and finish 9:00–10:00pm.
• Previous experience in a busy kitchen is preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends and evenings, including December 31st.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene training/certificate required.

Job description

IMPORTANT: Must be 18+, must be available to work weekends and evenings, including 31st December. This is a part-time role.

The Venue: The Glee Club Birmingham is one of the longest running comedy clubs in the UK. Our main room has a capacity of 400 seated / 600 standing, and is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for our weekly comedy nights, as well as being available to hire to some of biggest names in comedy, music, drag, cabaret and spoken word 7 days a week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our kitchen team for an average of 1 - 3 shifts a week. We are looking for someone who is a hard worker, passionate about food and works well under pressure. During the summer months we are quieter but shifts pick up from September through to June.

Pay: £13.30ph + tips and a bonus scheme, paid 4 weekly.

Qualifications Needed:

Must have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Training and Certificate.

Things To Know:

• Shifts start between 5pm - 6.30pm and generally finish between 9.00pm and 10.00pm.

• We don't provide transport home but we are happy to allow you to leave at a reasonable time to get public transport if you let us know in advance.

• Due to the nature of our service model, the first hour of service can be quite intense so an ability to work well under pressure is a must. We aim to serve all of our customers (up to 250 covers) before the show starts.

• Previous experience in a busy kitchen is preferred.

• Must be able to work weekends and evenings. Must be available to work for most of December including 31st December.
