Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant on a Bank basis at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester. You will assist in food preparation, uphold high hygiene standards, and contribute to a caring environment for residents.

Qualifications

  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certification and demonstrate high standard of personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH.
  • Able to sustain a demanding workload with efficient, physical effort.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and teamwork.
  • Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

  • Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen environment for safe production of meals.
  • Adhere to highest standards of hygiene in all food preparation activities.
  • Contribute to team work, respond positively to colleagues, and follow work instructions promptly.
  • Advise on supply and quality of items, ensuring timely ordering of replacements.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Kitchen Assistant - Bank at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is tosupportthe catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Understandingthe principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
  • Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
