Job summary

Acorn Lodge Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare Group, is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant to assist with food preparation, keep the kitchen clean, and ensure a safe, high-quality catering service for residents.

Shifts run 07:00 to 15:00 or 11:00 to 19:00 on a bank basis. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a DBS check are required, with a commitment to dignity and respectful care for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• DBS check is required.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support catering in food preparation and keep the kitchen clean for the safe production of meals and beverages
• Deliver a high-quality, comprehensive catering service to residents
• Apply the principles of safe food handling to kitchen work to the highest hygiene standards
• Contribute to team working and carry out reasonable work instructions promptly
• Advise on the supply and quality of items used and order replacement goods in good time
• Treat residents and their visitors with respect for each resident's dignity and individuality

The work centres on preparing food and drinks safely, keeping the kitchen clean, and checking and ordering supplies for a comprehensive service to residents.
