Overview

Temporary Kitchen Assistant – Location: Sheringham. Contract Type: Temporary. Working Hours: 08:00-14:00.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and motivated Temporary Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our client's school kitchen.

This fixed-term role offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the pupils by helping to deliver healthy and nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Catering Manager and wider kitchen team to maintain high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and basic cooking of meals
• Serving food to pupils and staff during lunch periods
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and dining areas in line with health and safety standards
• Washing up and assisting with the organisation of kitchen stores
• Following all food hygiene and school health and safety procedures

Requirements

• To have a positive attitude and works well within a team
• Understand the importance of food safety and hygiene
• To be organised, reliable, and able to work efficiently under time pressures
• Has previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment
• Is committed to supporting the school's ethos and values
• Must have clear enhanced DBS with children's barred list
