Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for its Broomcroft House Care Home in Sheffield. The role involves supporting the kitchen team, plating meals, and ensuring clean prep areas while following COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

You will work closely with residents and care home staff, delivering meals with care and attention to quality, while contributing to a positive dining experience in a friendly home environment.

Qualifications

• Passion for food and delivering excellent meals.
• Previous kitchen experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Good communication with residents and teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with plating meals and preparing trolleys.

Salary: £12.75 - £13.75ph dependent on experience. Permanent contract. Hours between 8am and 6pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
• Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
• Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties

Key Skills & Qualifications

A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
