Job summary

The Rock Point in Lyme Regis, part of St Austell Family Group, is seeking a kitchen assistant to join a friendly team near the harbour. You’ll help with food preparation, run the dishwasher, and keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe while learning in a supportive environment.

This role is ideal for someone starting in a commercial kitchen, with in-house training and flexible working options available, plus staff discounts and meal provision on longer shifts.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required; good attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
• Comfort with following hygiene and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
• Operate the dishwasher and ensure trays are cleaned properly.
• Keep kitchen area clean, tidy and safe for staff.
• Support the team during service times as needed.

You’ll be working in an 18th-century tavern that has been thoughtfully updated by St Austell Family Group to showcase character features that are stylishly adorned with mod cons. The Rock Point occupies a tranquil location at the heart of what many consider to be ‘The Pearl of Dorset’.
