Job summary

Homewood is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for its Kaleidoscope Collection hotel. You’ll help keep the kitchen clean, safe and well stocked, while supporting our chefs and porters throughout service in a lively, welcoming team.

This is a hands-on role in a 31-bedroom hotel with spa and dining spaces, offering training and progression paths. Joining our zesty team means you’ll contribute to a culture of hospitality, support fellow colleagues, and enjoy benefits like staff meals and monthly pay

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe when you’re at work.
• Support Kitchen Porters with pots and crockery to vary the daily tasks.
• Help chefs with cleaning down and maintaining hygiene during shifts.
• Learn basic food prep as you progress through training.
• Leave work at the door; maintain work-life balance between shifts.

As Kitchen Assistant what you’ll be doing

• Our Kitchen Assistants are the backbone of our Kitchen, you’ll be in charge of keeping our lovely little kitchen clean, tidy and safe when you’re at work
• Our team of Kitchen Porters are trained to take care of all the kitchen and restaurant pots and crockery which helps bring some variety to your day
• Cleanliness is going to be a priority for you, you’ll be trained to help our Chef’s clean down and stay tidy through the day
• Progression is something we like and if it’s something you like too then we will start to train you on basic food prep in the kitchen
• Leave the job at the door. Once you hang your apron up this is the kind of job you can switch off from until your next shift, work life balance is important
