Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
- Kitchen experience is preferable, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with meal preparation - includes tasks like washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Preparing meals for residents with specific needs - This may involve creating meals for individuals with dietary restrictions, allergies, or swallowing difficulties.
- Monitoring stock levels - keeping track of food and supplies, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked.
- Following instructions from the Head Chef - includes preparing specific dishes and following recipes as directed.
- Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness - ensure the kitchen, including food preparation areas, is clean and sanitary at all times.
- Assisting with cleaning and sanitation - includes washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and maintaining general kitchen tidiness.
- Disposing of waste - ensure proper disposal of food waste and other trash.
- Organizing storage areas - help maintain an organized and efficient kitchen.
- Serving meals to residents - help with plating and serving meals, ensuring residents receive their meals in a timely and respectful manner.
- Liaising with care staff and residents - involves communicating politely and professionally with residents and other staff members.
- Restocking dining areas - Ensuring dining areas are clean and well-stocked with necessary items.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations - includes following food safety guidelines and reporting any potential hazards.
