Job summary

A leading care home provider in the UK is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support care home operations. The successful candidate will assist chefs in meal preparation, ensure food hygiene standards are met, and manage kitchen stocks. Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care environment.
  • Commitment to customer care and first-class service.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.

As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of our care homes kitchen.

  • Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high‑quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents.

  • Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.

  • To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used.

  • Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place.

  • To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks.

    Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.

  • Committed to customer care and first‑class service provision.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.

  • Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents.

  • Ability to multi‑task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
