Kitchen Assistant

Job Type: Temporary (1 to 3 months)

Hourly Rate: 12.50

Hours: 6am-2pm Monday-Friday

Location: Carlisle Cumbria

We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant for a well-established and reputable client of ours based in Carlisle. This is a temporary position with a duration of 1 to 3 months offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting with food preparation including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables and other basic cooking tasks
• Ensuring all ingredients are properly stored and organized
• Assisting the chefs with setting up cooking stations and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards
• Keeping the kitchen area tidy including washing up, clearing surfaces and disposing of waste
• Replenishing stock and supplies in the kitchen as needed
• Adhering to all health and safety and food hygiene regulations
• Supporting the team with any additional tasks as required during busy periods
