Job summary

Bupa UK in Cardiff is recruiting a Part Time Kitchen Assistant to join Heol Don Care Home, providing support to the kitchen and dining service for residents.

The role is permanent, part-time (20 hours/week) with shifts from 10-6 or 8-4, and a salary of £13.10–£14.10 per hour depending on experience. You’ll help plate meals, prepare trolleys and maintain clean prep areas in a caring environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen with a passion for food.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Strong communication with residents and team.

Heol Don is a modern purpose-built facility, ideal for a wide range of residential, nursing and dementia care needs for the elderly. An experienced care team tailor care plans to individual needs for short or long term requirements including respite, convalescence and palliative care, as well as care for dementia residential.

Heol Don offers first-class accommodation and facilities including sensory gardens, a hair salon and even an on-site cinema. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities and are equipped with ergonomically designed furniture to provide a comfortable and safe environment. Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
