Job summary

Certas Energy in Cannock is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, deliver great customer service and uphold high food safety standards. This 40-hour role includes late shifts from 2pm to 10pm in our retail kitchen outlet.

You will work with the wider retail team to ensure a welcoming experience for customers and efficient kitchen operation, with emphasis on cleanliness and safety. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ideally some previous retail or food service experience.
• Good awareness of food hygiene and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in line with brand standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service and create a positive customer experience.
• Support food preparation and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen.
• Follow food hygiene standards and HACCP requirements.
• Complete daily and scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Follow company policies covering health & food safety, cash handling and stock control.
• Support stock management and deliveries, reporting shortages where required.
• Help contribute to site sales targets.
• Deliver fast and efficient service during busy trading periods.
• Work collaboratively as part of the wider retail team.

How you’ll power our business as a Kitchen Assistant

Hours: 40 hours (late shifts) 2pm-10pm

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of our retail kitchen outlet, helping us deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of food preparation, cleanliness and food safety. Working as part of the wider retail team, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for customers and ensure our kitchen operates efficiently.
