Job summary

Porthaven Care Homes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in delivering nutritious meals to residents in a welcoming care home setting. No formal qualifications are required as full training is provided, and prior kitchen or care experience would be advantageous.

You will help maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, assist with food preparation, and work as part of a friendly team to ensure residents enjoy high-quality meals.

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or care setting is advantageous but not required.
• Full training provided.

You will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and will assist during the food preparation process. There will be many opportunities for you to get to know our residents and to develop your skills.

About you:

You will be reliable, considerate and caring in your approach. Formal qualifications are not necessary as full training will be provided, although any similar experience gained in a commercial kitchen or care setting would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and they must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
