Overview

This is a Kitchen Assistant role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The successful candidate will support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered to residents.

Responsibilities
  • Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen environment to ensure high standards of hygiene and safe food handling.
  • Contribute to team working, respond positively to colleagues, and action reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, and ensure timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
  • Act with respect and care towards residents and their visitors, upholding the dignity and individuality of each resident.
About You
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Have knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
  • Be an efficient worker with the ability to sustain physical effort and manage a demanding workload.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a positive, flexible approach to teamwork.
  • Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Please note this role will require:

  • A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
