Job summary

BCP Council is recruiting a Team Manager for the Approved Kinship Team in the Fostering Service. You will lead five qualified social workers, oversee practice, and ensure kinship carers meet regulatory standards to achieve positive outcomes for children.

The role focuses on developing responsive support for kinship carers, coordinating with the Kinship Assessment and SGO Support Teams, and promoting collaborative, well-organised service delivery within a forward-looking workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience as a manager with fostering/kinship care.
• Knowledge of the Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five qualified social workers with strong operational and practice oversight.
• Provide effective leadership, supervision and practice oversight to the kinship team.
• Ensure kinship carers meet fostering requirements and standards to achieve positive outcomes for children.
• Develop responsive support for kinship carers via groups, training, mentoring and buddying arrangements.
• Collaborate with the Kinship Assessment Team and the SGO Support Team for joined-up support.
• Support planning for Special Guardianship as a permanence pathway.
