Job summary

Randstad is proud to partner with a leading care charity in England and Wales to recruit a passionate Family Support Worker. This role delivers 1-to-1 support within the Connected programme, helping kinship carers stabilise placements and access essential services.

You will manage a caseload, conduct data collection, and work with local authority teams while operating in a hybrid pattern from Newham, with 28 hours per week and a fixed-term contract to August 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting vulnerable families or carers, developing needs assessments and support plans.
• Experience in community-focused casework and facilitating peer or support groups.
• Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong IT and administration skills, including use of CRM systems for case management.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to family support.
• Understanding safeguarding procedures and child protection practices.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to travel within Newham area.

Responsibilities

• Direct 1-to-1 support in homes and local communities using the Connected Intervention Protocol.
• Establish and facilitate monthly support groups and coordinate family events.
• Collaborate with local authority teams, social workers, schools, health services and partners to advocate for families.
• Maintain accurate CRM records (Salesforce) and complete SMART goal assessments.
• Follow safeguarding policies and risk assessment frameworks with support from safeguarding leads.
