The Job Role

As Key Account Manager, you will create, agree, and implement clear plans for maximising and sustaining margin and royalty income from agricultural accounts, using agreed sales and marketing tactics. You will build and maintain a highly effective industry network to achieve the plans. You will be recognised in the industry as a trusted and valued partner and always operate by company values. Have excellent technical knowledge of the company Agricultural portfolio. Collaborate with the Coordination, Marketing, Technical and Operations teams to commercialise new products. Be active in your own personal development within the company.

Location

Lincolnshire based with travel across the UK. (Some overseas travel will also be required).

Salary package

£40,000 - £50,000 basic salary depending on skills and experience + Company Car + Benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, agree, and implement clear plans for maximising income from Agricultural accounts.
  • Working with your line manager and Operations Division, build and deliver pricing terms for retail and royalty products.
  • Ensure that multi-year sales and royalty targets agreed with your line manager are achieved, developing all available market opportunities.
  • Create Key Account Management plans for major customers. Collaborate with your line manager and the wider team to ensure plans are achievable and approved. Update and communicate these where relevant to business.
  • Maintain a high level of commercial and technical expertise, and professional qualifications, to ensure respect and effectiveness in the industry.
  • Participate in all sales and marketing activities including open days, conferences, briefings, internal and external meetings.
  • Contribute to maintaining the Agriculture Department's presence in social media and other marketing media.
  • Become proficient with the company operating and reporting systems.
  • Work to a customer-centric ethos including significant travel in the UK and Europe, which may occur outside standing working hours.
  • Proactively work with other teams across the business.
Qualifications
  • Degree in relevant subject or equivalent by experience.
  • BASIS (Seed Sellers) qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • NIAB Crop Inspector license is desirable but not essential.

  • Significant experience working in agriculture.
  • Significant sales/key account management experience.
  • Outstanding commercial awareness.
  • Excellent networking and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Communication, Collaboration and Negotiation skills.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Effective IT skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
