Job Description
  • Manage and develop key national and regional merchant and contractor accounts within the UK.
  • Build long-term partnerships through effective communication, trust, and value creation.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales, margin, and growth targets.
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, technical, and operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business reviews, forecasts, and performance updates to management.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures in line with company policy.
  • Support the development of promotional and marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility.
The Successful Applicant

Essential:

  • Proven track record in key account management within the construction, civil engineering, or building materials sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication abilities.
  • Experience managing large, complex customer accounts.
  • Results-driven and strategically minded, with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of drainage, civils, or below-ground infrastructure products.
  • Familiarity with major merchant groups, buying consortia, and contractor networks.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
