Job Description

  • Job Title: Key Account Manager
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Hour: 37.5 hours a week
  • Location: Cramlington

Main Purpose of Role

  • As a account manager you will be dealing with the commercial aspect of the role mainly focusing on a portfolio of accounts with an expectation of retention and organic growth.
  • Deliver revenue growth to achieve annual KPI targets.
  • Ensure all activity is recorded in SGS CRM system

Key Accountabilities

  • Network designated account organization at all levels to ensure interface relationships are in place between customer and SGS operational teams.
  • Take ownership of all commercial aspects of the account including: Setting, recording/updating all pricing in the supply agreement.
  • Profitability modelling at set up and annual review to make sure margins are maintained
  • Negotiation of annual price increases
  • Ensuring all changes and additions to customer scope are captured commercially to maintain account profitability
  • Compile tender proposals, terms of contract and longer-term supply agreements for all managed accounts.
  • Urgently report any issue or threat which could result in loss
  • Ensure new accounts are fully trained on test reporting using on-line and off-line reporting systems.
  • Manage customer review meetings on a quarterly basis.

Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate:

Essential:

  • Account Management in Food Production or Retailer experience
  • Experience with a technical service provider supplying the UK food industry and experience working in an environment aligned to the technical aspects
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial account management role
  • Account Management and relevant sales/AM background to demonstrate experience
  • Full clean driving license for use in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience with budgeting and sales forecasting
  • Proven track record of delivering Customer Service Excellence
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific, technical, engineering discipline
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2, Six Sigma, CAPM, PMP
  • Customer Service qualification such as NVQ, Practitioner, Institute of Customer Service
