Job description

Working alongside a Kerbside Driver, you’ll help collect and lift recyclable materials on set routes. It’s a hands-on, active role where teamwork is key - especially as households generate more packaging and festive waste throughout December.

Responsibilities
  • Champion Recycling at the Source: Collect, sort, and separate recyclable materials directly from households - on the kerbside and back at the depot.
  • Prioritise Safety Every Step of the Way: Always follow Health & Safety policies and use the correct PPE to keep yourself and others safe.
  • Stay Strong & Smart on the Job: Use safe lifting techniques and follow best working practices throughout your day.
  • Be a Community Ambassador: Build positive relationships with residents by answering questions and promoting recycling.
  • Keep It on Record: Accurately complete required paperwork and reporting.
  • Spread the Word: Deliver programme-related promotional leaflets when needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Able to follow instructions clearly and communicate effectively
  • Willingness to take direction and work hard in a fast-paced team environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Experience working in a waste environment.
  • Hold a full, clean UK Driving License.
  • Friendly, respectful, and able to work well with others.
  • Reliable and punctual with strong sense of responsibility.
