Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Athletic Coach at Portsmouth High School to lead a comprehensive sports program, ensuring discipline and high standards while mentoring athletes in character development. You will work under the Athletic Director and collaborate with principals and coaches to foster teamwork and sportsmanship.

The role emphasizes program oversight, policy implementation, and staff development, with responsibilities for scheduling, travel, and game logistics in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and oversee design, standards alignment and implementation of a total sports program.
• Ensure staff adherence to Portsmouth School Board policies and implement them.
• Schedule practices and tournaments, coordinate transportation.
• Mentor athletes to promote character traits like trust, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
• Maintain discipline and supervise assistants; evaluate staff performance.
• Direct communications with parents, staff and administrators.
