Job description

Working at CreateFutureCreateFuture is an AI-native consulting partner where people do work that matters and are supported to do it well. We work alongside organisations such as PayPal, adidas, NatWest, FanDuel and Money Saving Expert, building digital products and services that make a difference while always putting people first.

We’re a team of creators. We write code, shape delivery, build go-to-market strategies, develop AI solutions and create the practices that support our people. We work side by side with our clients, challenging what’s not working and helping them to build the future. Our commitment to craft, quality, and culture has helped us scale to over 600 people in just a few years.CreateFuture is a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company and has won Best Workplaces UK multiple years in a row.

Join us on our journey. Let’s create tomorrow, together, today.

About the role and team:

TechOps keeps CreateFuture running — everything from the laptop in someone's bag on day one to the identity platforms, networks and cloud services behind our day-to-day work, across a business of 500+ people throughout the UK. We're a small team with a wide remit, which for you means unusually broad exposure: device management, identity, networking, cloud and security, rather than one narrow corner of IT.

This is a role for someone at the start of their career. You'll begin with the day-to-day, supporting colleagues, setting up devices, working through requests — and that's genuinely where the learning is, because it's how you build a real mental model of how the business works. From there you'll take on more: automation, projects, and ownership of your own areas. We're an automation-first team, so you'll be encouraged to script things rather than repeat them, and to use AI tooling to move faster while learning what it's actually good for. We'll give you time, context and someone senior to learn from — we're not expecting you to arrive knowing this stuff.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Being a first point of contact for colleagues who need help, and seeing problems through to a proper resolution rather than a workaround
  • Assisting around the office with all tech related setup and issues
  • Setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting Macs, and learning how we manage them centrally through Jamf
  • Handling day-to-day account and access work across Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace — new starters, leavers, permissions and licences
  • Learning to automate: turning tasks you've done manually a few times into scripts, with support from the team
  • Keeping our documentation and asset records accurate, so the whole team can move faster
  • Getting involved in wider projects — security, networking, AI tooling, internal tools — as your confidence grows
We’d love to talk to you if you:
  • Are genuinely curious about how technology works and tend to pull things apart to find out — a home lab, a Raspberry Pi project, a self-hosted setup or just a long history of fixing family laptops all count
  • Can explain something technical to someone non-technical without making them feel stupid. This matters more than any tool knowledge.
  • Are organised and follow through — a lot of this job is holding several small things at once and not dropping any of them
  • Have some exposure to scripting or code, or the appetite to learn it properly
  • Use AI tools with a bit of curiosity and scepticism rather than treating the output as gospel
  • Care about doing things properly, and are comfortable saying "I don't know yet, but I'll find out"
What we’ll offer you:

We trust people to do their best work. That means flexibility over rigid rules, impact over activity, and real investment in your growth both professionally and personally. You’ll be part of a supportive, and friendly culture, surrounded by smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do.
For this role we would expect you to be present in our Edinburgh office a few times per week.

We trust you to manage your time balancing collaboration with client time and focused work. What matters is the impact you have, not how busy you look
