Job summary

Recycleye is seeking a Junior Technician to join our Production team. You will build, test, and install QuantiSort and QualiBot systems, working with Technicians, Project Managers, and Engineers.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical assembly while helping improve processes as the company scales. You’ll travel within the UK and Europe roughly once a month, with weekend installations around every other month.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of hands-on workshop experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and 2D drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and install electro-mechanical systems in workshop and at customer sites.
• Maintain component traceability and uphold high quality standards in production.
• Troubleshoot issues to keep production on schedule and feed improvements back to processes.
• Help organise and develop the workshop to support multiple product lines.
• Keep workshop clean, safe and organised.

The role

As a Junior Technician, you’ll help build, test, and install our products: QuantiSort, our AI-powered airjet sorting system, and QualiBot, our robotic sorting system. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Production team (Technicians, Project Managers, and Engineers), building hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, and playing an active part in improving our processes as the company scales.

What you’ll do

• Assemble, test, and install our electro-mechanical systems in our workshop and at customer sites.
• Maintain component traceability and uphold high quality standards throughout production.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and discrepancies to keep production on schedule, and feed what you learn back into improving our processes.
• Help organise and develop our workshop and production hall so we can deliver multiple product lines efficiently.
• Keep the workshop and production hall clean, safe, and organised.

What we’re looking for

• A relevant qualification (such as a BTEC, HNC, or completed apprenticeship) or at least 1 year’s hands-on workshop experience.
• A practical approach and a strong problem-solving mindset for mechanical and electrical challenges.
• The ability to work from engineering information such as assembly instructions, 2D drawings, and 3D CAD models.
• Confidence using workshop and power tools safely.
• A keen eye for detail, both when following processes and when helping improve them.
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe, typically around once a month.
• Availability for weekend installations roughly every other month, with time off in lieu.
• Living within commuting distance of Stratford, London, and the right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Electrical, wiring, or software knowledge.
• Experience installing industrial equipment, or working in warehouse, manufacturing, or recycling environments.
• Experience operating industrial robots or automated systems.
• A full UK driving licence.
