Responsibilities

A bit about the job:

This role centres on managing and growing a profitable portfolio of Surety business. After a period of training, you’ll underwrite risks in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and relevant legislation. Working closely with brokers and customers, you’ll oversee policies from start to finish, support audits and process reviews, and help implement changes to team procedures. Collaboration is key, with regular cross-team engagement to resolve underwriting issues and keep operations running smoothly. Staying informed on industry trends and contributing to projects that drive continuous improvement are also part of the role, all with a strong focus on delivering great customer outcomes.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

• Underwriting Experience: 12+ months preferred, but not essential. Exposure to Surety, Credit Insurance, or Political Risk is a plus.
• Regulatory Awareness: Some understanding of UK regulations and legislation affecting Surety underwriting.
• Portfolio Management: Ability to support and eventually manage a profitable portfolio of Surety business.
• Team Collaboration: Comfortable working with different teams to support underwriting tasks.
• Customer Focus: Committed to delivering good customer outcomes and acting in good faith.
