Job summary

Elekta is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our engineering team, developing software that supports automated and integrated quality assurance in radiation therapy. You will learn from experienced engineers and build skills in full stack development for medical applications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related STEM field.
• Understanding of software development and web apps from studies/projects.
• Familiarity with C#, Java or JavaScript and testing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack web applications for a medical environment.
• Write, test and improve software with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Contribute to components, services and APIs using C#, Java and JavaScript.
• Participate in technical discussions and learn how solutions are designed.
• Write unit tests and understand automated testing in the development process.
• Contribute to code reviews, PRs and other development activities.
• Work in an Agile Scrum team to deliver new features and improvements.

What You’ll Do At Elekta:

As a Junior Software Engineer, you’ll join a talented engineering team developing software that supports automated and integrated quality assurance in radiation therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain full stack web applications used within a medical environment.
• Write, test and improve software with support from experienced engineers.
• Contribute to application components, services and APIs using technologies including C#, Java and JavaScript.
• Take part in technical discussions and learn how software solutions are designed and developed.
• Write unit tests and learn how automated testing forms part of the software development process.
• Contribute to code reviews, pull requests and other development activities.
• Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to deliver new features and improvements.
• Learn from others, share ideas and continue developing your technical knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Bring:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or another relevant STEM subject.
• An understanding of software development and web-based applications gained through your studies, projects, placements or other relevant experience.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages, ideally C#, Java or JavaScript.
• An understanding of software testing, debugging and writing clean, reliable code.
• An interest in full stack software development and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Good communication skills and an interest in solving problems and working collaboratively with others.
