Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a Site Maintenance Trainee in Saffron Walden. The role offers full training, working with a busy Facilities Team to support maintenance and utilities, ensuring safe and efficient site operation.

Ideal for those starting an engineering career, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Salary £21,200–£24,000 depending on age and experience, on-site hours 9am–5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn; full training provided.
• Interest in engineering, maintenance or facilities.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• A relevant engineering qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
• Good communication and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, enthusiastic work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assisting experienced engineers with planned preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Responding to maintenance requests across the site.
• Learning to inspect and maintain site services (HVAC, compressed air, water systems and electrical services).
• Supporting general building maintenance, including basic repairs and upkeep.
• Working alongside contractors during maintenance and improvement projects.
• Updating maintenance records and learning to use maintenance management systems.
• Following health and safety procedures and taking part in ongoing training.
• Developing technical skills through on-the-job experience.
