Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a capable nurse to join its Emergency Department team. The post holder will support the ED Matron and Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses to ensure patients are seen, treated, discharged or transferred within the four-hour emergency access standards.

The role includes assessing care needs, developing and evaluating care programmes, teaching and supervising staff, and taking charge of the department when required.

Job summary

The post holder will participate in all Departmental activities as an effective team member, supporting the ED Matron and Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses in the effective running of the Emergency Department. The aim of this role is to ensure patients are seen, treated, discharged or transferred within the four hourly emergency access standards.

The post holder will assess care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. This role will also teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, and act as a role model to junior staff. The post holder will take responsibility and accountability for a group of patients as well as take charge of the department when necessary.
