Job summary

J80 is a dynamic and fast-paced department, caring for approximately 70-90 patients each day who attend for a wide range of day-case treatments. We are seeking an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in haematology, oncology, or a related speciality, together with experience in the administration and delivery of SACT.This is an excellent leadership opportunity for a skilled and experienced nurse with a broad range of clinical expertise, who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting patients with complex needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and managing this specialist service while working alongside the Senior Sisters to support the day-to-day management and ongoing development of the unit.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and operational management of our busy SACT Day Case Unit. Working closely with the Senior Sisters, you will coordinate patient flow, oversee the safe delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, and ensure the highest standards of patient-centred care are maintained. You will provide clinical leadership, support and develop junior staff, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and act as a role model for professional practice. The role requires excellent organisational, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage a fast-paced environment while supporting patients with complex oncology and haematology needs.

The Unit is open 07:30am – 19:30pm Monday – Friday.

07:30am – 18:30pm on Saturdays and 07:30am – 16:00pm on Sundays.
