Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 nurse to join our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) on Ward 7D at the Royal London Hospital. The contract is for a permanent position full time ( 13 shifts )

The unit is a predominantly nurse led unit that provides alternative pathways for children and young people requiring acute specialist paediatric involvement, avoiding the need for admission to hospital. PAU patients can be referred from the GP, ED or clinical nurse specialists. The successful candidate will occasionally be expected to support nursing care delivery on the Paediatric Ambulatory and Short Stay Unit also located on Ward 7.

We are therefore looking for a dynamic and experienced nurse to join our team who can juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast- paced environment. They will have experience of triaging babies, children and young people and be a competent and confident communicator with the multi-disciplinary team.

The service is operational from 08.45am until 21.15pm from Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of individualised family centred care to children and their families in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
