Junior SHEQ Advisor / Assistant

Full-Time, On-Site - Fareham

Are you looking to build a career in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ)? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior SHEQ Advisor/Assistant to join our team and support our operations.

This is a fantastic role for someone who’s eager to learn, develop their skills, and gain hands‑on experience in SHEQ management. You’ll be supported by an experienced team while contributing to important initiatives that keep our people safe and our operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assisting the SHEQ team with day‑to‑day safety, health, environmental, and quality activities across our sites.
  • Helping to carry out workplace inspections, safety walks, and compliance checks (e.g., fire alarm tests, DSE assessments, and maintenance record reviews).
  • Supporting the management of SHEQ documentation, including policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Helping to coordinate staff training sessions and keeping competency records up to date.
  • Assisting with the investigation of incidents and non‑conformances to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of our ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
  • Helping to onboard new employees and contractors with SHEQ inductions.
  • Supporting supplier evaluations and basic audit activities.
  • Promoting a positive SHEQ culture by encouraging safe working practices and awareness across all teams.
  • Getting involved in projects that improve health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
What You’ll Bring
  • A keen interest in building a career in health, safety, environmental, or quality management.
  • Basic understanding (or willingness to learn) of SHEQ principles, standards, and legislation.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – able to work well with people at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced professionals.
Desirable qualifications and experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent entry‑level safety qualification.
  • Working toward (or interested in pursuing) a NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  • Some experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment is a plus but not essential.
