St Peter's School York is seeking a Science Technician for the Junior School to support practical science delivery. The role involves organising and maintaining laboratory resources, preparing equipment for lessons, and assisting teachers during practical sessions to ensure safe, engaging learning experiences for Years 1–6.

Responsibilities

• Organise and prepare equipment and resources for the Science curriculum.
• Source, maintain and prepare materials and equipment for practical activities; plan using the Scheme of Work.
• Deliver and set up equipment for Science lessons in laboratories (Years 5–6) and classrooms (Years 1–4).
• Reorganise, clean and store equipment after activities; ensure resources are ready for future use.
• Provide technical advice and support to teachers and pupils to enhance practical science; assist with health and safety requirements.
