A prestigious London independent school is seeking a Junior School Assistant to support classroom activities and work closely with teachers. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals interested in pursuing a teaching career. The role offers hands-on experience in a busy educational environment, with a focus on personal development and teamwork.
Junior School Assistants are managed on a day to day basis by the Assistant Principal Operations of the Junior School who is responsible for organising and monitoring their weekly timetable.
The role is particularly suited to those applicants interested in pursuing a career in teaching as it provides an opportunity to gain experience of working with children, working with teachers and TAs, and other stakeholders within a school environment. An interest in drama is also beneficial but not essential. Post-holders will gain a thorough insight into the workings of a busy Junior School and the importance and responsibilities of different roles within a school.
Highgate School believes that recently graduated students, or post-A Level students having a gap between going into higher education, can make a valuable contribution to the running of the Junior School whilst at the same time benefiting in terms of their personal development from the opportunities the experience will offer. The School seeks a bright, enthusiastic, energetic and flexible young person who is prepared to take advantage of the opportunity to work in a leading London independent day School. The School aims to offer a balance between day-to-day tasks and working with children alongside experienced teachers.
