Qualifications

  • Motivated and ambitious with a strong work ethic.
  • No prior industry experience required, but interest in finance essential.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service is a bonus.

  • Support senior originators with loan enquiries and relationship management.
  • Manage inbound sales leads as first point of contact.
  • Write credit reports for new loan applications across various deal types.
  • Assist with marketing activities including social media management.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure smooth deal progression.
  • Maintain accurate client records and assist with due diligence.
  • Network face-to-face at broker events and client meetings.
  • Develop in-depth market knowledge in specialist finance.
  • Build your own portfolio of lending clients.

Onyx. is a specialist UK commercial lender, providing development finance and bridging loans to property developers and investors across a broad range of asset types and project sizes. In order to expand the team, Onyx is looking for a Junior Sales Manager, who will be working in the areas of development finance and bridging loans.

Please note, this is an office‑based role in Segensworth, Hampshire, PO15 5TT.

We’re looking for a motivated, ambitious junior to train in the art of business development, relationship management, and deal execution within the unregulated bridging and development finance market. No prior industry experience is required — just a genuine interest in finance, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

This role is designed as a springboard into a long‑term career in specialist lending, with a clear route for internal progression and the support needed to grow into a senior position.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support senior originators with new loan enquiries, client onboarding, and ongoing relationship management
  • Manage inbound sales leads, acting as a first point of contact for borrowers, brokers, and introducers
  • Write credit reports for new loan applications across a wide range of deal types and sizes
  • Assist with marketing activity — including both online and offline campaigns — with a particular focus on managing Onyx’s social media channels and helping maintain affiliate relationships with key industry bodies
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including underwriting, legal, and completions, to ensure smooth deal progression
  • Maintain accurate client records, assist with due diligence, and help track live deal status
  • Face to face networking, such as broker events, site visits, and client meetings to build your exposure to the full lifecycle of property lending
  • Develop in-depth market knowledge in specialist finance, deal structuring, credit risk, and relationship development
  • Build your own portfolio of lending clients over time, with ongoing mentoring and support from a senior sales manager
What we are looking for
  • Someone who enjoys face‑to‑face interaction and is confident engaging with prospects, clients, and introducers in person
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and highly organised
  • A genuine interest in property, finance, and business development
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and juggling multiple priorities
  • Degree‑level education is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or financial services is a bonus — but not required
