Junior Quality Technician

Wednesbury, West Midlands

c£27k increasing to £30k after training

Overview

Our client has been established for more than half a century and is recognised as a leading manufacturer of innovative and energy‑efficient solutions for a range of commercial and industrial applications. As part of a planned programme of strategic growth and succession planning, the company is seeking an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Junior Quality Technician to complement their quality team and develop a career in a stable and progressive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Goods inwards inspection
  • Control of customer returns
  • Control of the calibration and product testing processes
  • Internal auditing
  • Assisting the Quality team in ensuring company ISO 9001 compliance
  • Contributing to the Development department to ensure technical requirements of the product specification are achieved
  • Supporting the Service/Technical and Production Departments in a busy production environment

In this role you will manage inspection and test activities, equipment maintenance, data collection and analysis, non‑conformance management, process improvement, and compliance with SOPs. You will also maintain calibrated equipment logs, conduct quality data analysis, and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.

Other duties include product and process inspection, quality data management, problem‑solving and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, system maintenance, auditing, and collaboration with other departments to resolve quality issues and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering skills gained within a manufacturing environment • Basic knowledge of international standards such as ISO 9001 • Recognised engineering qualification or equivalent experience (QBE) is ideal • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong mathematical and English skills • Knowledge of different heating appliances is a real advantage • Excellent organisational and communication skills, confidence to work independently, and enthusiasm to learn and grow
