Job summary

Border to Coast is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the business. You will work with project managers and cross-functional teams to help manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder engagement.

This is a permanent role based in Leeds with hybrid working arrangements. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits, with 37.5 hours per week and opportunities to develop project management skills while ensuring

  • Risk and Issue Management: maintain risk/issue logs and escalation processes.
  • Financial and Resource Management: assist with budget tracking and resource planning.
  • Governance and Reporting: ensure compliance with governance standards and maintain project documentation.

As a Junior Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across the business. You will work alongside project managers and cross-functional teams to help manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and stakeholder engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your project management skills while playing an important role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

The role – what you’ll be doing
Project Coordination
  • Support the planning and delivery of projects, ensuring activities are completed in line with agreed timelines.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, documentation and action logs.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate project meetings workshops and team communications.
Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and assist in managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Prepare project status reports, presentations and other project communications.
  • Escalate issues and risks to senior project managers and business SMEs when required.
Risk and Issue Management
  • Maintain project risk and issue logs.
  • Monitor mitigation actions and ensure agreed actions are progressed.
  • Follow up on outstanding risks, issues and dependencies, providing updates to project leads.
Financial and Resource Management
  • Support project budget tracking, reporting and financial administration activities.
  • Monitor project expenditures against forecasts.
  • Assist with resource planning, scheduling and allocation activities.
Governance and Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, governance standards and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare governance packs and project status reports.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation to support project assurance and audit requirements.
